Since 2002

The swaging floor

In 2002 we opened a 30,000 sq ft factory and installed India’s first 3,000 t swaging machine. It mechanically splices rope up to five inches in diameter with aluminium and steel swaged Flemish-eye ferrules.

  • Flemish eyes, swaged with aluminium or steel ferrules
  • Terminations swaged, spliced, socketed or sewn
  • Every component traceable to its own certificate

What we make

Single-leg strops to multi-leg bridles and heavy-lift grommets.

Wire rope slings

Single-leg slings with swaged or spliced eyes, thimbles and fittings to suit the hitch.

Multi-leg bridles

Two, three and four-leg assemblies on a master link, sized to the load and the sling angle.

Grommets

Endless grommets for heavy lifts, made to the length and capacity you need.

Socketed assemblies

Wire rope with wedge or spelter sockets, poured with Wirelock resin where required.

Chain slings

Grade 80, 100 and 120 alloy chain slings to EN 818 and EN 1677, assembled from Gunnebo components.

Webbing and round slings

Zebra polyester slings to EN 1492-1 and -2, woven and made in-house since 1990.

Four steps

How we make them

01

Specification

You give us the load, the hitch and the headroom; we size the legs, the fittings and the working load limit against the standard that applies.

02

Make

Cut from certified stock rope or webbing and terminated in-house — swaged, spliced, socketed or sewn — with every component traceable to its own certificate.

03

Proof-load

The finished assembly goes on our own test bed (our beds run from 1 to 1,200 T) and is loaded to the multiple its standard requires.

04

Certificate

It leaves tagged, with a test and examination certificate in our own name on its serial number — class-witnessed (IRS, ABS, LRS, BV) where the job needs it.

  • Flat webbing and round slings to EN 1492-1 and -2
  • Colour-coded by working load limit
  • Ratchet lashing belts from the same works

Frequently asked questions

What do you need from us to make a sling?

The load, the hitch and the headroom. We size the legs, the fittings and the working load limit against the standard that applies. A drawing or a photo of the old sling and its tag helps.

What size of wire rope can you terminate?

We hold and splice wire rope from 5 to 127 mm. Our 3,000 t swaging machine presses ferrules on rope up to five inches.

Is every sling tested?

Yes. Every sling and assembly we make is proof-loaded on our own machines before despatch and leaves tagged, with a certificate on its serial number.

Can you make slings for a class-surveyed job?

Yes. The proof-load test can be witnessed to IRS · ABS · LRS · BV rules where the job needs it.

Do you make webbing and chain slings too?

Yes. Webbing and round slings are made by our sister company Zebra Weblift, and Grade 80, 100 and 120 chain slings are assembled from Gunnebo components we hold in stock.

Need a sling made?

Send the load, the hitch and the headroom — we quote with lead time, test and certificate.
