MG-GBK Grade 100 Chain Sling – Single Leg with Master Grab & Self-Locking Hook
The MG-GBK Grade 100 Chain Sling is a high-performance single-leg lifting sling built using the Gunnebo GrabiQ system, combining multiple functions into a compact, efficient design. This configuration features a Master Grab (MG) top fitting that acts as the master link, connection point, and integrated shortening device, paired with a GBK self-locking hook on the working end for secure, positive load engagement.
We offer online purchase sizes from 5/16" through 5/8", with Working Load Limits ranging from 5,700 lbs up to 22,600 lbs (vertical). Additional sizes, lengths, and custom configurations are available on a per-quote basis for specialized lifting applications.
Pro Tip: The GBK self-locking hook automatically closes and remains securely latched under load, reducing the risk of accidental disengagement. Combined with the Master Grab’s integrated shortening function, this makes MG-GBK slings ideal for dynamic lifting environments where both adjustability and maximum hook security are critical. Made from Gunnebo Grade 100 alloy chain and components – new and certified
Single-leg MG configuration with integrated shortening function
GBK self-locking hook with grip latch for enhanced load security
Maintains full Working Load Limit when shortened
Fewer components for reduced weight and easier inspection
Individually serialized and furnished with metal load tag
Load tag indicates chain size, sling length, Working Load Limit, and serial number
Assembled and inspected in-house using genuine Gunnebo GrabiQ components Why Choose MG-GBK GrabiQ Chain Slings?
The MG-GBK configuration delivers the same efficiency benefits of the GrabiQ system while adding an extra level of safety at the hook. The Master Grab eliminates the need for separate shortening hooks and connectors, creating a lighter, more streamlined sling that is easier to handle and faster to rig.
The GBK hook features a self-locking design with a grip latch that automatically secures when under load, providing a more positive connection compared to standard sling hooks. This makes MG-GBK slings an excellent choice for lifting applications where secure attachment and load control are critical.
Typical Applications Vertical lifting with adjustable pick points
Crane and hoist operations
Heavy equipment and machinery handling
Construction and industrial lifting environments
Applications requiring enhanced hook security Frequently Asked Questions
What does “MG-GBK” mean?MG refers to the Master Grab top fitting with integrated shortening capability, while GBK denotes Gunnebo's self-locking hook with a grip latch for secure engagement.
What is the advantage of a self-locking hook?Self-locking hooks automatically close and remain secured under load, reducing the risk of accidental disengagement compared to standard latch-style hooks.
Can the chain be shortened without reducing capacity?Yes. The Master Grab fitting allows for chain shortening while maintaining full rated Working Load Limit when used properly.
Are these slings certified?Yes. Each MG-GBK chain sling is supplied with a metal load tag showing chain size, sling length, Working Load Limit, and a unique serial number.
Can I order custom lengths or configurations?Yes. Custom lengths, additional sizes, and engineered lifting assemblies are available upon request.
