Gunnebo 3/8″ x 10 ft Type MGD-EGKN GrabiQ Adjustable 2-Leg Grade 100 Chain Sling – 15200 lbs WLL

MGD-EGKN Grade 100 Chain Sling – Double Leg with Master Grab Dual & Sling Hooks

The MGD-EGKN Grade 100 Chain Sling is a high-performance double-leg lifting sling built using the Gunnebo GrabiQ system, combining multiple functions into a compact, efficient design. This configuration features a Master Grab Dual (MGD) top fitting, designed specifically for two-leg assemblies and providing an integrated shortening function on each leg, paired with latched EGKN sling hooks for secure load attachment at each pick point.

We offer online purchase sizes from 5/16" through 5/8", with Working Load Limits ranging from 9,900 lbs up to 39,100 lbs (at 60° or less). Working Load Limits decrease as sling angles become more acute (such as 45° or 30°). Additional sizes, lengths, and custom configurations are available on a per-quote basis for specialized lifting applications.

Pro Tip: The MGD top fitting allows each leg to be shortened independently while maintaining full rated capacity when properly engaged. This makes MGD-EGKN slings ideal for leveling unbalanced loads or accommodating varying pick point heights. Made from Gunnebo Grade 100 alloy chain and components – new and certified

Double-leg MGD configuration with integrated shortening on each leg

EGKN sling hooks with safety latches for secure load engagement

Maintains full Working Load Limit when shortened (when used properly)

Improved load stability with two-point lifting

Fewer components for reduced weight and easier inspection

Individually serialized and furnished with metal load tag

Load tag indicates chain size, sling length, Working Load Limit, and serial number

Assembled and inspected in-house using genuine Gunnebo GrabiQ components Why Choose MGD-EGKN GrabiQ Chain Slings?

The MGD-EGKN configuration builds on the efficiency of the GrabiQ system by combining a two-leg sling with integrated shortening functionality at the top fitting. This eliminates the need for separate shortening hooks and connectors, resulting in a lighter, more streamlined assembly that is easier to handle and faster to rig.

The dual-leg design improves load balance and control by distributing weight across two pick points, while the EGKN sling hooks provide a versatile, general-purpose connection with reliable safety latches. With fewer components to inspect and maintain, MGD-EGKN slings help improve safety compliance while reducing inspection time.

Typical Applications Two-point lifting for improved load balance

Crane and hoist operations

Machinery and equipment handling

Fabrication and manufacturing lifts

Applications requiring adjustable leg lengths Frequently Asked Questions

What does “MGD-EGKN” mean?MGD refers to the Master Grab Dual top fitting for two-leg slings with integrated shortening, while EGKN denotes Gunnebo's standard sling hooks with safety latches.

How does sling angle affect capacity?Working Load Limits are based on a 60° sling angle. As the sling angle decreases (to 45° or 30°), tension on each leg increases and overall Working Load Limit is reduced. Always follow proper rigging angle charts and lifting standards.

Can the chain be shortened without reducing capacity?Yes. The MGD fitting allows each leg to be shortened while maintaining full rated Working Load Limit when used properly.

Are these slings certified?Yes. Each MGD-EGKN chain sling is supplied with a metal load tag showing chain size, sling length, Working Load Limit, and a unique serial number.

Can I order custom lengths or configurations?Yes. Custom lengths, additional sizes, and engineered lifting assemblies are available upon request.

Important Safety Information Use only by trained and qualified personnel.

Never exceed the Working Load Limit.

Observe proper sling angle limitations — capacity decreases as angles become flatter.

Ensure proper engagement of shortening features before lifting.

Inspect before each use for wear, cracks, stretch, or deformation.

Verify sling hook latches are functioning properly.

Remove from service if damage or overloading is suspected. Need a custom GrabiQ double-leg sling or engineered lifting solution? Contact us for configurations tailored to your application.
