Gunnebo 1/2″ x 15 ft Type MGD-GBK GrabiQ Adjustable 2-Leg Grade 100 Chain Sling – 26000 lbs WLL

MGD-GBK Grade 100 Chain Sling – Double Leg with Master Grab Dual & Self-Locking Hooks

The MGD-GBK Grade 100 Chain Sling is a high-performance double-leg lifting sling built using the Gunnebo GrabiQ system, combining multiple functions into a compact, efficient design. This configuration features a Master Grab Dual (MGD) top fitting, designed specifically for two-leg assemblies and providing an integrated shortening function on each leg, paired with GBK self-locking hooks on each working end for secure, positive load engagement.

We offer online purchase sizes from 5/16" through 5/8", with Working Load Limits ranging from 9,900 lbs up to 39,100 lbs (at 60° or less). Working Load Limits decrease as sling angles become more acute (such as 45° or 30°). Additional sizes, lengths, and custom configurations are available on a per-quote basis for specialized lifting applications.

Pro Tip: The MGD top fitting allows each leg to be shortened independently while maintaining full rated capacity when properly engaged. Combined with GBK self-locking hooks that automatically secure under load, this configuration is ideal for lifting environments where both adjustability and maximum hook security are critical. Made from Gunnebo Grade 100 alloy chain and components – new and certified

Double-leg MGD configuration with integrated shortening on each leg

GBK self-locking hooks with grip latch for enhanced load security

Maintains full Working Load Limit when shortened (when used properly)

Improved load stability with two-point lifting

Fewer components for reduced weight and easier inspection

Individually serialized and furnished with metal load tag

Load tag indicates chain size, sling length, Working Load Limit, and serial number

Assembled and inspected in-house using genuine Gunnebo GrabiQ components Why Choose MGD-GBK GrabiQ Chain Slings?

The MGD-GBK configuration combines the efficiency of the GrabiQ system with enhanced hook security for demanding lifting applications. The Master Grab Dual eliminates the need for separate shortening hooks and connectors, creating a lighter, more streamlined sling that is easier to handle and faster to rig.

The GBK hooks feature a self-locking design with a grip latch that automatically closes and remains secured under load, providing a more positive and secure connection compared to standard sling hooks. This makes MGD-GBK slings an excellent choice for applications where load control, safety, and reliability are critical.

Typical Applications Two-point lifting for improved load balance

Crane and hoist operations

Heavy equipment and machinery handling

Construction and industrial lifting environments

Applications requiring enhanced hook security Frequently Asked Questions

What does “MGD-GBK” mean?MGD refers to the Master Grab Dual top fitting for two-leg slings with integrated shortening, while GBK denotes Gunnebo's self-locking hook with a grip latch for secure engagement.

How does sling angle affect capacity?Working Load Limits are based on a 60° sling angle. As the sling angle decreases (to 45° or 30°), tension on each leg increases and overall Working Load Limit is reduced. Always follow proper rigging angle charts and lifting standards.

What is the advantage of a self-locking hook?Self-locking hooks automatically close and remain secured under load, reducing the risk of accidental disengagement compared to standard latch-style hooks.

Can the chain be shortened without reducing capacity?Yes. The MGD fitting allows each leg to be shortened while maintaining full rated Working Load Limit when used properly.

Are these slings certified?Yes. Each MGD-GBK chain sling is supplied with a metal load tag showing chain size, sling length, Working Load Limit, and a unique serial number.

Can I order custom lengths or configurations?Yes. Custom lengths, additional sizes, and engineered lifting assemblies are available upon request.

Important Safety Information Use only by trained and qualified personnel.

Never exceed the Working Load Limit.

Observe proper sling angle limitations — capacity decreases as angles become flatter.

Ensure proper engagement of shortening features before lifting.

Verify that self-locking hooks are fully closed and functioning properly.

Inspect before each use for wear, cracks, stretch, or deformation.

Remove from service if damage or overloading is suspected. Need a custom GrabiQ double-leg sling or engineered lifting solution? Contact us for configurations tailored to your application.
