<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!--
  Sitemap index.

  app/sitemap.ts uses generateSitemaps(), which makes Next 14 serve the shards at
  /sitemap/<id>.xml and stop serving a plain /sitemap.xml — and Next does NOT
  emit a <sitemapindex> of its own. Crawlers (and anything already submitted to
  Search Console) hard-probe /sitemap.xml, so this static file restores that
  single entry point. Files in public/ win the path, so this is what /sitemap.xml
  resolves to.

  ⚠ Kept in sync BY HAND with SHARD_IDS in app/sitemap.ts and the SITEMAPS array
  in app/robots.ts. scripts/check-sitemap-drift.sh asserts the three lists match —
  if you add or rename a shard, change it in all three places.

  <lastmod> is deliberately omitted: this file is static and any date in it would
  be a lie the moment the DB-driven shards regenerate.
